EXPRESSIV MASKS @ PALAIS DE TOKYO

Palais de Tokyo about a worker

"By wearing a mask, the information transmitted by more than half of our face, are becoming invisible. Our physiognomic expressions are fundamental to communicate emotions and facilitate social interactions. Wearing a mask forces us to invent new non-verbal languages. ”
Anna Tcherkassof, author of the book “Emotions and their expression”. Le Monde - May 17, 2020

Since the Covid-19 crisis, the mask has become an essential accessory. But its popularisation erases the unique expressiveness of each individual: vital to human beings, to assert themselves, transmit and communicate their stories and emotions.

In addition to this interaction aspects, Masks have been criticised for their disposability and ethical and environmental weaknesses . Where does you mask production take place ? How are they produced and at which cost?

THE EXPRESSIVE MASK PACK

At ABOUT A WORKER, we see design as a universal language. Through shapes, colours and spontaneity, design can allow everybody to meet, transmit a message and debate upon it.

ABOUT A WORKER has designed a mask whose major function is to be an expressive medium allowing our society to expose their emotions and feelings by creating their own statement. Our aim was to create a usable mask gathering people together while supporting our local economy.
