PRIZES & AWARDS
NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS PRIZES
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a creative initiative by the European Commission, refering to the principles of the 1919 cultural movement Bauhaus. It aims to combine style and sustainability, supporting tangible solutions to the European Green Deal.
First issued in 2021, the NEB Prizes are awarded in four established categories based on the thematic axes of transformation.
The committee selects “inspirational examples of sustainable, and inclusive projects that contribute to the transformation of the industrial ecosystems towards more sustainable practices in a spirit of circularity, considering relevant social aspects”.
“MONDES NOUVEAUX”
As part of the Recovery Plan, the French Government wished to devote €30 million to a programme to support the design and implementation of artistic projects, which will pay particular attention to young creators. The Artistic Committee selected 264 proposals (over 3200 applications) from a wide range of artistic and geographical backgrounds. The Committee endeavoured to take account of both the large number of proposals initially submitted, which certainly reflects a pressing demand on the part of creators, the quality of each project, in order to achieve the objectives it had initially set: to support original creations, and to give itself the means to accompany them in each of the stages leading to their realization.
MINISTERE DE LA CULTURE FRANCAIS
For the second consecutive year, the Ministry of Culture launches a call for projects dedicated to emerging fashion brands. The emphasis on the digital side of brands is reinforced.
Today, the transmission of a brand culture passes first and foremost through social networks, this digital reflex is already in the culture of fashion entrepreneurs. However, the expenditure required to implement sustainable and strategic actions is rarely a priority, as it makes it possible to value the creative distinction of the brand.
This new device will be anchored in the existing support network dedicated to young fashion designers. It takes place in a landscape of direct and indirect funding without taking the place of other mechanisms. Its vocation is to support the development of companies between their 1st and 5th year of existence.
GRAND PRIX DE LA CREATION DE LA VILLE DE PARIS
Each year, the Grands Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris honours six talented designers, fashion designers and craftsmen.
Paris has always been associated with creation. It was therefore only natural that the capital should have a distinction to honour this genius. Thus, in 1993, the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris was born, an annual award for a talented creator.
From 2003 onwards, the Prize was expanded and now distinguishes three categories: crafts, fashion and design, and rewards, in each of them, a professional known as an emerging talent and an established one.
