ABOUT A WORKER x SHENZHEN / UABB

To design and produce ABOUT A WORKER SHENZHEN/UABB collection, ABOUT A WORKER cooperated with  5 Local immigrants currently living in Bao An’s workers village and producing clothes from home for factories from around. 

Through this collection, we asked our collaborators to to showcase their vision of Shenzhen’s transformations by deconstructing and reconstruct green local uniform. Before accomplishing their pieces they went through a ten days initiation where they had to express their vision of Shenzhen through many exercises: writing opinions, taking pictures, creating Shenzhen’s moodboard, drawing city patterns, creating textures. 

These seamstresses have managed to design an expressive and qualitative collection in less than ten days while showcasing an exemplary team spirit. Despite the language barriers over the time we have encountered together, this experience proved that creation can be a universal language.
