JOURNÉES EUROPÉENNES DU PATRIMOINE @ FONDATION D'ENTREPRISE MARTELL

JOURNÉES EUROPÉENNES DU PATRIMOINE

During our artist residency at Fondation d’Entreprise Martell, ABOUT A WORKER celebrated the European Heritage days in Cognac. “The European Heritage Days” is a celebration of local crafts, giving visitors the possibility to discover territorial companies and artisans for a week-end.

On September 21 and 22, we organised workshops for kids and teenagers at the “Atelier du Faire” inside Fondation d’Entreprise Martell The aim was to sensitise the young generation to the local wool and upcycling culture. In order to make these workshops happen, we cooperated with Atelier Charentaises, the last french slipper house in the region. Atelier Charentaises gave us their wool fabric stocks, which we used for the workshops.

KIDS WORKSHOP: CREATE YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL MASKS

After a small lecture about the local animals in current extinction, and their importance in the Charentes Region, kids were given woollen shapes (face, eyes, nose, etc…) to create their own animal masks with their favorite colours! About 20 kids between 3-8 years old attended the first workshop.

TEENS WORKSHOP: CREATE YOUR EXPRESSIVE BAG

Young artists between 10 to 20 years old were able to create their own mask with wool leftovers from Atelier Charentaises! We saw some crazy creations, cupcake, big cat, unicorn and Fake Chanel bags were the Hit of the day!
