Once a pillar of the textile industry, Roubaix now bears the scars of industrial decline. At ABOUT A WORKER, we have chosen to reinvent this past by offering ethical and sustainable production, rooted in the promotion of local know-how and unused materials.
In Roubaix, in our responsible production factory, where pattern makers and seamstress works every day since 2024, we upcycle unused materials and fabric deadstock into clothing, accessories and textile scenographies for brands and companies.

But that’s not all… This year, we unveiled a monumental project: 4 upcycling monsters : made from used clothing and recycled fabrics from TDV, Feat.Coop & l’Atelier des Matières !
THE UPCYCLED MONSTERS
At Who’s Next show, we wanted to make an impression with 4 upcycling giants : creatures over 3 meters tall, made from used clothing and recycled materials from TDV, Feat.Coop & l’Atelier des Matières (french textile companies) !
These monsters aren’t just cute and great spots to take selfie with. They are powerful symbols to rethink the future of the fashion industry while not forgetting the past !
Faced with mountains of textile waste, it is urgent to rethink our clothing production method. Through these giants, we wanted to show that it is possible to transform our waste into solutions. Each material has value.
